Directory of Endometriosis Specialists

Endometriosis requires its own subspecialty, yet at this time in traditional settings endometriosis is taken care of by OB/GYNS as opposed to endometriosis specialists. OB/GYNS are NOT equipped to properly handle endometriosis.

Endometriosis Specialists do exist, however what they do is very different (and far more time-consuming) than what OB/GYNS do. Unfortunately, the insurance codes for physician payment pay the same to providers whether care took 20 minutes or 12 hours. Thus, many Endometriosis Specialists are forced to be "out-of-network" and, thus, harder to find and more expensive.

Any OB/GYN can call themselves an "endo specialist" since there is no official, standard subspecialty. It is important that patients interview their provider and be selective with whom they choose for their care.

AEEP compiled the first ever online searchable directory of Endometriosis Specialists. This directory provides a unique questionnaire where providers can give insight to patients on their methods, beliefs, metrics, and qualifications.
